Summer break! What a better way to start my few months off from school with a trip to Kauai! I was really nervous about the flight out...one because I don't like to fly and two because Sean is at a really tricky age for long flights! Both boys did great on the plane and I made it in one piece!
Here is Grady showing his enthusiasm for Hawaii! He did this to everyone he saw while we were there!
One of many wrestling matches in our lifetime! Thankfully now, they are usually full of giggles and smiles...not always, but usually!
The first morning we woke up at 4:30 am! (7:30 Ca time!) and in order to keep the people below our room happy we headed to the beach! Sean was a little scared of the sound of the waves at first, but Grady (as usual) wanted to jump right in!
Famous last words..."You boys can get your feet wet." yeah right. Grady fell a few minutes later and got soaked. Then we said, what the heck...swim in the ocean in your jammies! It was actually really cute to watch. We had the beach all to ourselves since it was so early!
Later that day we went back and played! Grady loved to build sand castles...although we didn't build too many!
I buried Grady in the sand (per his request!) and he loved it! A few minutes later a rooster came walking up. I have a picture that shows how close he got...Grady got nervous, but was laughing really hard that the rooster was so close! He kept trying to get up but was stuck...it was a pretty funny moment! Don't worry, I wouldn't have let the rooster get to my boy! I chased him away!
Grady LOVED the water! He thought he was pretty big stuff really! This area of Poipu beach is called "Baby beach" because there is an entire inlet that is about 2 feet deep. It's a perfect place for hte littles to run around in. Grady is a strong enough kicker to kick around on his boogy board and enjoyed wearing his goggles and looking for fish! Sean wanted so badly to do the same stuff as G. Although the area of water is pretty blocked off, it still does get the waves a bit and if they were big enough they would knock Sean down and he wasn't able to get himself back up. One of us would follow him around...although honestly, he mostly enjoyed chasing the chickens on the beach. He kept calling them "quack quacks!"

One morning we did a bike ride along the ocean. The boys were in this trailer behind Rob and although they both did their fair share of crying, annoying one another and missbehaving in general we had a really nice time. Next time Grady will be big enough to do one of those little bikes that are attached to the big bike up front deals and Sean won't need to be napping while we ride! I think we might have less issues then...I couldn't hear all the crying and i wasn't pulling the trailer into the wind, so needless to say, I had a great ride and took in all the scenes! Rob I'm sure could have done without some of these things!
Climbing trees even in Kauai! Sean was sitting at the bottom of the tree...it was pretty cute!
I really wanted to get a cute picture of both boys...but these are as good as I got. We took a little walk along the beach during our ride and just enjoyed being loose! It was fun!

This is on a train ride at the plantation in town. Cathy and I did it with Grady last time we were there and he really enjoyed it, so we did it again this time but Rob and Sean joined us!
During the ride they talk about all the crops Kauai grows, or used to grow and then they stop the train to let you feed their pigs and goats! Grady is so brave, he wanted to feed the goats and afterwards said "Mommy, the goat was so gentle!"
I was excited to feed the pigs (of course!) but I was really excited to feed and pet this gentle giant! This steer is 5 years old and it was so sweet! It's tongue is insainly rough and those horns are enormous! I literally almost got one to the back of my head! oops...guess I got too close!
Grady swam daily...once,if not twice! He wore these great water wings when he wanted to go to the deep end but did really well without them in the shallow areas...especially when he could touch! He was very proud of his swimming and Rob and I were both so pleased with his progress during the 10 days we were there!
While the big boys golfed Tutu and I entertained the little boys! This day we went to feed the Koi fish. They give you a little bag of fish food. I swear we were there for at least 45 minutes. Sean was literally feeding them one pellet at a time! We didn't care though, they were happy! It was actaully really fun to watch all the fish! They were so pretty...and big!

We also took the boys to the bird show at the Hyatt! This was the second show we went to! Grady held this bird and one other bird and was so excited to show Daddy his pictures!
Sean was so tired and horrible during the show, but he kept hold his arm out like it is in the picture and saying "hold it." I knew this meant he wanted to hold the bird too! Of course, his big brother did it first right!? He looks scared here, but he really wasn't! It was so cute to watch! He held his arm out all day telling us how he held the bird! He was so proud!

Apparently all the fun wore these little boys out! Grady fell asleep on the floor of Papa and Tutus' house waiting for us to come back from our house! All in all it was a great family trip! Next time we go it should be really fun...Sean will be Grady's age now and we thought he was so fun this time! He'll be 5 almost 6! It's hard to believe!

such a silly boy...he looked so handsome on Easter. He also did amazing during church! We went back to my parents house and had brunch and then Nana and I took the boys to the park! 
This is also not a cute shot of him, but he had so much fun at the park and also looked really handsome in his little outfit! He was so cute, he loves to "wing" (swing) and kept pointing to the swing next to him and calling out Grady's name. This sweet little boy just adores his big brother. He has really begun to talk a lot and has started showing more of his personality. He just gets better by the minute! xoxo
Dying eggs....yes, they are naked. I was not about to try this with clothes on! Both of them LOVED this project...in fact, Grady has asked to do it every day since!
Grady has been SO EXCITED to start soccer. He honestly had talked about it everyday since we signed him up. Of course Daddy had to get all the gear...clothes, shin guards and we had some hand-me-down shoes! Grady insisted on packing his "soccer bag" and off we went!
It was a "Mommy/Daddy and Me" class so one of us has to participate...of course Daddy did! I honestly don't know who was more excited about everything...Grady or Daddy?!

This is where the "coach" was explaining that they don't use their hands...
and only their feet! (He's pointing to his feet!) Kidz Love Soccer impressed me! They had this color chart and the kids were working on their colors as well as learning to dribble the soccer ball! You can see Rob holding the card!
Grady and Bentley! So sweet! Too bad someday she'll probably be way taller than him! :o)

The tricky leprechaun made green eggs and pancake! Sean loved them..Grady enjoyed the pancake, but was a little unsure about the green eggs!

We had the BEST family weekend last weekend! I have been so busy working on my school's talent show that we havn't had a lot of "extra" time together as a family. Last Friday night was the final show for my school and after a great night I was thrilled to be done with that commitment! Rob let me "sleep in" on Saturday and after we all had our coffee and breakfast we headed to the Oakland zoo. For Sean's birthday we were given season passes. It is so cool! It includes the parking and the fees for all of us to get into the zoo. Both boys had such a great day! The weather was perfect and the animals all seemed to be 'out and about' so we could see all of them! My favorite was the apes...they were really loud and vocal that day and I just couldn't get enough! Sean loved the giraffes (there was a baby one!) and Grady's favorite was a little monkey that was wildly swinging in the trees!
Here is our little Sean in front of the tortouse. He felt SO BIG being able to walk around a bit. He and Grday loved petting the goats in the children's area. That night we all went out to eat..which was an experience...to finish off the day! (I've concluded there is a reason why we don't eat out much...it really isn't all that fun !) What a fun day!!!
